Job Description

Heavy Equipment Mechanic Parker Bark Company is a locally owned mulch and soil manufacturing plant that has been in business for over 43 years. We are looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This is a hands-on position responsible for helping keep our heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and other machinery maintained, repaired, and ready for daily operation. Job Responsibilities Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on heavy equipment Perform preventative maintenance and routine services Work on front end wheel loaders and other heavy equipment Perform oil changes, greasing, filter changes, and scheduled maintenance Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical problems Inspect equipment and identify problems before they lead to major breakdowns Make repairs in a timely manner to minimize equipment downtime Maintain tractors, trailers, and other company vehicles as needed Keep maintenance areas, tools, and equipment organized Communicate clearly about repairs, parts needed, and equipment condition Experience & Requirements Previous heavy equipment mechanical experience required Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills Hydraulic system knowledge preferred Electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus Welding and fabrication experience is a strong plus Must be willing to get dirty — this is a hands-on position Must be able and willing to work in hot and cold temperatures and changing weather conditions Must be able to perform physical labor throughout the workday Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Must be comfortable working outdoors and around an active mulch and soil manufacturing facility Must be dependable and able to work independently Must take pride in properly repairing and maintaining equipment Schedule Full-time position, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be available, with some Saturdays required during our busy Spring season.
