Equipment MechanicPosition Summary The Equipment Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining ICR's rental fleet and customer-owned equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for rent while minimizing downtime and delivering exceptional customer service. Every mechanic is an important part of delivering on that promise. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, fuel, and engine-related issues. Perform preventative maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations and company schedules. Inspect all rental equipment upon return and prior to delivery to ensure it is rental-ready.

Repair construction equipment including:

Mini excavators Skid steers Track loaders Compaction equipment Concrete equipment Generators Pumps Air compressors Trailers Small engines and handheld equipment Complete scheduled maintenance including: Oil and filter changes Fluid checks Greasing Battery maintenance Belt and hose replacement Tire and track inspections Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, diesel engines, gasoline engines, and electronic controls. Perform welding and light fabrication as needed. Accurately document repairs, labor hours, and parts used. Maintain clean and organized work areas. Assist with loading, unloading, and preparing equipment for customer pickup or delivery. Perform field service repairs when necessary. Communicate repair recommendations and equipment status to the Service Manager. Work closely with the Rental, Parts, and Sales departments to maximize fleet availability. Maintain company tools and shop equipment in safe working condition. Follow all OSHA, EPA, and company safety standards. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Technical school education preferred. 2+ years of mechanical experience preferred. Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, and construction equipment preferred. Valid driver's license required. CDL is a plus or willingness to obtain one. Ability to operate forklifts, skid steers, excavators, and other construction equipment safely. Basic computer skills for work orders and service documentation. Stand, kneel, bend, crawl, and climb throughout the workday. Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Operate hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, forklifts, and lifting devices. Ability to safely climb on and around heavy equipment.
