  • Full-Time Ground-floor opportunity with Ohio Mulch's newest division About Great Lakes Equipment Great Lakes Equipment is the newest division of Ohio Mulch and an authorized XCMG dealer.
We are building a brand-new heavy equipment operation, and this role puts you on the ground floor of something bigger. As the division grows, technicians will have real advancement opportunities into lead tech, field service, and shop foreman roles. What You'll Do Diagnose and repair excavators, loaders, dozers, and compact equipment Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and component replacements Use OEM diagnostic software (XCMG, Cat ET, Komatsu, Doosan, Volvo) Complete accurate work orders and repair documentation Assist with equipment setup and customer-ready preparation Work independently with support from senior mentors What You Need Ownership of standard heavy-equipment tools Strong knowledge of transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, fuel systems, electrical and hydraulic systems Experience with XCMG, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Doosan, Volvo, or similar brands Proven mechanical and diagnostic ability High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license Preferred Skills Welding and fabrication (MIG, arc, oxy-acetylene, gouging) Hydraulic pump, valve, and motor repair OEM diagnostic systems (XCMG software, Cat ET, Komatsu, etc.) Cummins engine diagnostics (QuickServe Online, Insite) Technical training from schools, dealerships, or manufacturer programs Why Technicians Choose Us Ground-floor role in a growing division Modern shop environment OEM training and certification opportunities Clear advancement path: Lead Tech → Shop Foreman → Field Service Lead Company-provided diagnostic software access Stable schedule with overtime available Benefits 401(k) with company match Health, dental, and vision insurance Company-paid life insurance Paid time off Employee discounts Schedule 10-hour shifts Monday-Friday Overtime and occasional weekends Experience Requirements Diesel engine repair: 3 years
