The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. This role offers an engaging opportunity to work with diverse machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm equipment. The ideal applicant will possess strong mechanical expertise, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to quality service. All positions are paid roles that contribute directly to operational efficiency and safety standards. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics on heavy equipment using electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics to identify issues accurately. Conduct repairs and maintenance on construction machinery such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and loaders. Service and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and air brake systems. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding and hand tools to meet OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications. Conduct equipment troubleshooting to resolve operational problems efficiently and effectively. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy machinery to ensure compliance with safety standards. Use power tools and specialized equipment for assembly, disassembly, repairs, and modifications. Diagnose electrical systems including wiring harnesses, sensors, HVAC systems, and electrical diagnostics. Assist in the calibration of equipment alignment and perform tire service or replacement when necessary. Maintain detailed service records and complete all documentation accurately for each repair or maintenance task. Qualifications Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy equipment operation. Proficiency in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, schematics reading, and troubleshooting complex systems. Skilled in welding, fabrication techniques, tire service, and the use of hand tools and power tools. Knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics and repair procedures including transmissions and suspension systems. Familiarity with OEM specifications for various heavy equipment brands such as Caterpillar or similar manufacturers. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety protocols. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with customer service orientation. Relevant certifications or technical training in diesel mechanics or heavy equipment servicing is advantageous.
