Job Description
Overview Woelber Excavating, LLC is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of heavy construction equipment, trucks, and support vehicles. We are looking for a dependable, self-motivated individual who takes pride in keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently. If you enjoy troubleshooting, working independently, and being part of a team that builds critical infrastructure throughout western South Dakota, we'd like to hear from you. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrains Perform preventative maintenance on construction equipment and highway trucks Complete inspections and identify needed repairs before failures occur Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records Coordinate with project managers and superintendents to minimize equipment downtime Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment Respond to occasional field service calls Equipment You'll Work On Excavators Loaders Skid Steers Dozers Motor Graders Compactors Articulated Haul Trucks Dump Trucks Pickup Trucks Trailers Various support equipment Qualifications 3+ years of heavy equipment mechanic experience preferred Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics Ability to read service manuals and wiring diagrams Welding and fabrication experience is a plus Valid driver's license Ability to lift 75 lbs and work in indoor and outdoor environments What We Offer Competitive hourly pay based on experience Overtime opportunities Company-paid training opportunities Modern and expanding equipment fleet Stable, year-round employment Opportunities for advancement Supportive team environment Depending on experience, pay is negotiable Schedule Full-Time Monday-Friday Overtime available as needed About Woelber Excavating Woelber Excavating, LLC specializes in underground utilities, earthwork, grading, and infrastructure construction throughout western South Dakota and surrounding areas.
