Within our region we have Shop locations based in Rapid City, Sioux Falls, Aberdeen South Dakota and Omaha Nebraska.\nHarms Oil is seeking an experienced Shop Mechanic. This position would report directly to the Shop Manager and is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all heavy trucks and trailers within the Harms Oil fleet. Responsibilities:

\nPerform truck and trailer inspections to meet internal and DOT requirements, and accurately complete required paperwork. Properly repair and maintain Harms Oil Company's fleet of heavy trucks and trailers. Diagnose, rebuild, and repair equipment. Enter paperwork/stories regarding truck and trailer repair records from the previous day. Order parts and submit paperwork as needed.\nKeep vehicles and work area clean and orderly. Wash trucks and trailers. Sweep floors and maintain a clean work environment. Clean, repair and organize buildings and grounds.\nSet up new vehicles with parts and preparations for timely transition to the field.\nPerform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.\n

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

\nMinimum of one year experience in the maintenance and proven knowledge of vehicle diagnosis and repair.\nAutomotive Technology or Diesel Technology education preferred.\nKnowledge of the freight or fuel transport industry preferred.\nKnowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in vehicle equipment repair and maintenance. Versatility, with a demonstrated ability to change tasks and direction with a moment's notice.\nWelding knowledge, with experience in fabrication.\nExcellent problem solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.\n
