Heavy Equipment Technician Location:
Box Elder, SD About the Position We are seeking an experienced Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Technician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing a wide variety of construction equipment, trucks, trailers, and support vehicles. Experience with construction equipment is preferred. Responsibilities Repair, maintain, and service company equipment and vehicles, including excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, pressure drill rigs, OTR trucks, pickup trucks, trailers, tracked equipment, and other construction equipment. Occasionally also perform field service work at project sites, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment in the field. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine problems. Determine the extent of repairs needed and complete repairs efficiently. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs. Operate and maintain a company-provided service truck equipped with a crane. Work safely with welders, torches, grinders, and other shop equipment. Complete work orders, daily reports, and parts requests. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies and PPE requirements. Qualifications Required Valid driver's license. Ability to supply your own standard mechanic hand tools. Diagnostic scanners and specialty tools are company provided. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Preferred Experience repairing construction equipment, tracked equipment, trucks, trailers, or heavy machinery. Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics. Class A CDL (preferred but not required). Tractor-trailer chassis and engine experience is a plus. Candidates with strong mechanical ability are encouraged to apply even if they do not have experience with every type of equipment. We are willing to train the right candidate. Experience Pay:
$50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
