HVAC Service and Installation Technician Fire & Ice Heating and Air Conditioning CT S2 or S1 required | East Granby, CT | Full-time | $35-$50/hour New location: 6 Herman Drive, East Granby, CT Fire & Ice is hiring an experienced, licensed technician for primarily residential service and installation work throughout the Farmington Valley and surrounding towns. We need someone who can diagnose problems, complete quality repairs and installations, and explain the solution clearly to the homeowner. Pay and benefits $35-$50/hour based on skills and experience; stable, full-time work. 100% employer-paid employee medical insurance premium; eligibility begins the first of the month following 90 days of service. 401(k) with a 4% employer match; paid holidays and accrued paid time off, subject to eligibility. Company vehicle for work; monthly tool and cell phone allowances. Weekly on-call stipend plus time-and-a-half for required after-hours service calls. The work Service, maintain, repair, and install oil, propane, and natural gas heating equipment, boilers, furnaces, water heaters, central air conditioning, and heat pumps. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control faults using wiring diagrams, meters, and diagnostic equipment; troubleshoot hydronic components and airflow problems. Perform combustion testing, equipment startup, refrigerant service, and operating checks appropriate to the system. Document diagnoses, repairs, and recommendations; explain options to customers and leave a clean, safe work area. What you bring Active Connecticut S2 or S1 license and demonstrated residential HVAC service and installation experience. EPA Section 608 certification appropriate to the equipment serviced. Ability to troubleshoot independently, communicate clearly, and work well with other technicians and the office team. Valid driver's license and driving record acceptable for company vehicle use; participation in the on-call rotation. Your own hand tools and basic power tools.
