Monday-Friday, 11:00 PM-7:30 AM Job Summary We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to support facility maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving facility systems, auxiliary equipment, and material-moving equipment while ensuring HVAC and building systems operate safely and efficiently. The HVAC Technician will work closely with Maintenance Personnel, Engineering, Production, and outside contractors to troubleshoot equipment issues, complete preventative maintenance, support facility improvements, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. The ideal candidate has commercial or industrial HVAC experience along with a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Required Skills & Qualifications
EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification or equivalent Type 2 or Type 3 certification required, or certification must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment
Minimum of 2 years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience and/or enrollment in an HVAC vocational program
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited organization
Mechanical and/or electrical experience required
Strong HVAC troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair skills
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults
Good documentation and recordkeeping skills
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with other departments
Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, MP2, and similar maintenance software preferred
Ability to adapt to constantly changing situations and priorities
Effective time management and multitasking skills Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Experience with PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, and 24VDC discrete I/O
Experience working with RTUs, air handlers, chillers, compressors, and pumps
Familiarity with Building Management Software (BMS)
Experience performing facility repairs and building improvements
Preventative maintenance experience
Experience working with outside contractors
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Perform major and minor repairs of auxiliary equipment, including PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, 24VDC discrete I/O, and mechanical systems
Monitor and maintain HVAC operations, RTUs, air handlers, chillers, compressors, pumps, and related facility equipment
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical faults within HVAC equipment and other facility systems
Perform facility repairs and improvements to building structures and grounds
Complete required preventative maintenance and scheduled maintenance activities
Utilize Building Management Software (BMS) to monitor facility temperatures and schedule equipment run times
Provide facility and equipment maintenance support as needed
Work closely with Maintenance Personnel, Engineering, Production, and outside contractors to resolve facility and equipment issues
Complete routine preventative maintenance tasks on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
Maintain equipment through preventative maintenance and repairs as needed
Document completed maintenance and repair work accurately
Use hand tools to perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks
Manage time effectively while balancing routine maintenance and special repair assignments
Complete special repairs and tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor or Manager Physical and Environmental Requirements This role requires the ability to remain on your feet for extended periods of time.
Frequent bending, kneeling, and squatting may be required to perform maintenance tasks. The position involves extensive hand-tool use, light repetitive lifting, and occasional medium lifting of up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations. Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to extremely dirty conditions at times. Proper personal hygiene, protective clothing, and required PPE must be maintained and worn without exception. Additional Role Requirements This position does not have any subordinate associates reporting directly to it. The HVAC Technician will work closely with APM Technicians, Maintenance Technicians, Manufacturing Departments, Engineering, Production, and outside contractors. The position requires the ability to meet internal customer expectations while providing timely maintenance and facility support. The technician must be self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision, and capable of completing well-defined routine tasks while adapting to changing daily priorities. INDQSS1
