Ammonia Refrigeration Technician

Starting Pay:

What We Have to Offer $34.67 per hour up to $38.23 per hour depending upon skillset and experience Shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift Up to 120 hours (15 days) vacation annually 11 paid company holidays Paid time off benefits 401(k) with company match Medical, dental, life insurance Career growth and cross-training opportunities Your Work Schedule and Shift Information 8-hour shifts 2nd shift: 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm 3rd shift: 11:00 pm to 7:00 am Currently hiring for 2nd shift and/or 3rd shift dependent upon business need Two days off per scheduled work week Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, nights, holidays and emergency events as needed Plant operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

As part of our manufacturing team, you will: Performing specific preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical repair, and other tasks and techniques to keep refrigeration systems in operational conditions to meet production, refrigeration, storage, and shipping needs. Performing daily rounds/checks of ammonia system Providing technical support and plant leadership for refrigeration equipment troubleshooting and modification Learning, following, and engaging in Process Safety Management (PSM) Performing both uptime and down time preventative maintenance Understanding and following all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment Effectively communicate and productively interact with all levels of team personnel and outside contractors, vendors, visitors, etc. Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance Assist in training new employees

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED Must possess the ability to understand and effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and others in the workplace regarding work matters (our business is generally conducted in English) Working knowledge of industrial ammonia refrigeration Working knowledge of 120/240/480-volt systems, HVAC, pneumatic and hydraulic systems Minimum 2 years of steam boiler experience Minimum 2 years of electrical and/or mechanical maintenance experience Minimum 2 years of refrigeration experience or equivalent education preferred RETA Operator 1 and/or 2 certification is preferred but required after hire Ability to work independently and as a team with flexibility to quickly shift work priorities Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, push, pull, and twist for extended periods Willingness to work in hot, cold, noisy, wet, or dusty conditions Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms Ability to follow human and food safety, quality, and grooming standards Ability to wear such as protective clothing and equipment (Personal Protective Equipment -PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard/bump cap, hair/beard net, gloves, and face masks (when required) Ability to work around high-speed machinery and food allergens
