Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead HVAC Installer to join our team and lead the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. In this role, you will oversee installation projects, mentor junior technicians, and ensure all work meets safety standards and quality expectations. Your expertise will help deliver reliable climate control solutions to our clients while fostering a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment. Duties Lead the installation of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, furnaces and refrigeration equipment, with precision and efficiency. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to ensure accurate system setup and troubleshooting. Supervise and mentor a team of HVAC installers, providing guidance on best practices for system installation, repair, and maintenance. Perform complex HVAC system repairs, electrical diagnostics, equipment troubleshooting, and mechanical systems repair to ensure optimal operation. Coordinate with project managers to plan installation schedules, material procurement, and site safety protocols. Conduct comprehensive system testing post-installation or repair to verify proper operation; perform adjustments as needed. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including service reports, schematics updates, and compliance records. Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety regulations (including EPA certifications), and industry standards for HVAC/R systems. Operate hand tools, ohmmeters, voltmeters, and other diagnostic equipment efficiently for troubleshooting purposes. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining system features and maintenance tips to clients while ensuring their satisfaction. Experience Proven experience in service technician roles specializing in HVAC installation and repair. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in HVAC system design, installation, maintenance, and repair. Familiarity with schematics, blueprints, electrical systems diagnostics, refrigeration principles, plumbing connections, and building automation systems. Experience working with HVAC/R equipment including boilers, air conditioning units, ventilation fans, pumps, thermostats, electrical controls and components. Ability to troubleshoot electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters; perform equipment repairs efficiently. Knowledge of safety standards for handling refrigerants, as well as A2L compliant; EPA 608 certification; valid driver's license. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients. Prior leadership or supervisory experience is highly desirable for guiding junior technicians effectively.
