Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable HVAC Mechanic to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in commercial and/or residential facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, knowledge of HVAC equipment and controls, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems. Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control-system problems. Perform preventive maintenance on air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment. Service and repair furnaces, heat pumps, air handlers, rooftop units, chillers, boilers, compressors, and related equipment. Test and replace defective components, including motors, belts, bearings, thermostats, capacitors, contactors, relays, and controls. Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, and leak detection in accordance with applicable regulations. Read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics. Use diagnostic tools and meters to identify equipment problems and verify proper operation. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts, refrigerant usage, and preventive maintenance. Respond to service calls and equipment emergencies as needed. Communicate professionally with customers, building managers, contractors, and other team members. Maintain a clean and safe work area and properly care for tools and equipment. Follow OSHA requirements, company safety procedures, and applicable HVAC and environmental regulations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous HVAC mechanic, technician, or maintenance experience preferred. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical components, electrical controls, and refrigeration principles. Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation. Proficiency with HVAC diagnostic tools and hand/power tools. EPA Section 608 certification required for positions involving regulated refrigerants. Valid driver's license may be required. HVAC license or trade certification preferred where applicable. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, and work in confined spaces. Ability to climb ladders and work safely at heights. Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver HVAC equipment, tools, and materials. Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, noisy, and outdoor environments. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods. Work Environment Work may be performed in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, residential properties, mechanical rooms, rooftops, construction sites, and other service locations. The position may require overtime, weekends, on-call rotations, or emergency service depending on business needs.
