Primary Purpose:
Maintain all HVAC equipment and controls in all district school buildings, keeping them in proper operating condition. Maintain all district facilities in a condition of operating excellence to ensure the comfort, health and safety of students, staff and visitors.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent CFC certification Valid Texas driver's license Driving record that meets the requirements of the district's insurance carrier
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Extensive working knowledge of physical plant maintenance Ability to communicate effectively
Preferred Experience:
Three years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing all types of HVAC equipment and refrigeration systems
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Report to work on time each day 2. Demonstrate acceptable work habits including regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, dependability and promptness. 3. Set up preventative maintenance schedules for all areas 4. Troubleshoot and repair all types of HVAC equipment and refrigeration. 5. Overhaul or replace compressors. 6. Repair, replace, and calibrate thermostats. 7. Repair all HVAC pumps. 8. Repair air compressors pertaining to HVAC equipment. 9. Repair boilers pertaining to HVAC equipment. 10. Repair cooling towers. 11. Performs preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment such as: (a) Superheat checks, compressor oil checks, air flow, repair freon leaks, check condition of condenser and evaporator coils. (b) Replace belts and adjust tension. (c) Replace and lubricate all bearings and motors as needed 12. Performs any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as needed basis.
