JOB DETAILS

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a growing Buildings team in California, supporting the design and delivery of complex aerospace, industrial, manufacturing, power, process, government, and other specialized facilities . The ideal candidate brings mechanical engineering consulting and/or construction experience , strong mechanical design capabilities, and the ability to take projects from the conceptual phase through design completion. Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams and interacting with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders is highly valued. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. What You'll Do Perform mechanical design from the conceptual phase through design completion. Modify and review production drawings for a variety of projects, including power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial facilities, and governmental/military facilities. Design mechanical components based on project requirements established by project managers. Apply mechanical engineering and design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures to project work. Research and compile project-related data as required. Update and review drawings using CAD and other engineering/design software. Support client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration. Perform field inspections, measurements, and calculations for public and private clients. Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams and adapt mechanical designs based on project budgets, design considerations, and client needs. Support design and construction activities throughout the project lifecycle. Perform additional project and engineering responsibilities as assigned. What We're Looking For PE license required. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program, with 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience , consulting preferred; or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program, successful completion of the FE exam, and 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience , consulting preferred; or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience , consulting preferred. 5-15 years of experience preferred for this position. Previous mechanical engineering consulting and/or construction experience highly preferred . Strong knowledge of standard mechanical engineering techniques, procedures, codes, and design practices. Experience with mechanical design, production drawing review/modification, and mechanical component design. Proficiency with AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, 3D rendering programs, hydraulic analysis, and HVAC analysis software . Strong Microsoft Office and general computer skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong quantitative problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities. Strong attention to detail, organization, collaboration, facilitation, and team-building skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented consulting environment. EIT certification preferred. Preferred Project Experience Experience supporting design and construction for one or more of the following is highly desirable: Aerospace and manufacturing facilities Government and SCIF facilities Thermal energy and power Process and industrial facilities Healthcare facilities Airports Educational institutions Commercial facilities Governmental and military facilities Why This Opportunity?
