Job Description

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Plant Maintenance Mechanic II to support reliable, safe operation of our manufacturing equipment and facilities. In this role, you will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems, including conveyors, crushers, pumps, hydraulics, and gearboxes, while following strict safety and environmental standards. You will perform preventive and predictive maintenance, fabricate and install parts, and assist with equipment upgrades and shutdowns. Working in a collaborative, safety-first culture, you'll help minimize downtime, support continuous improvement, and grow your technical skills on a variety of industrial systems. Responsibilities Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair plant mechanical equipment and systems Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on conveyors, crushers, pumps, and related equipment Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures and implement effective repairs Fabricate, modify, and install mechanical components and assemblies as needed Support equipment installations, shutdowns, and overhauls to reduce downtime Follow strict safety, lockout/tagout, and environmental procedures at all times Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders in CMMS or logs Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to prioritize and schedule work Identify opportunities for reliability, safety, and process improvements Operate hand tools, power tools, and mobile equipment safely and efficiently Required Skills Mechanical troubleshooting Preventive and predictive maintenance Hydraulic and pneumatic systems Welding and fabrication Industrial conveyors and crushers Alignment and installation of rotating equipment Reading mechanical drawings and schematics Use of hand and power tools CMMS or maintenance documentation Lockout/Tagout and industrial safety practices
