VPC Group Inc. - Asheboro, NC If you have experience maintaining flexible polyurethane foam pour-line equipment, we want to talk to you. VPC Group is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for our flexible slab polyurethane foam operation in Asheboro, NC. This is a hands-on position responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment to keep our foam operation running safely and efficiently. Previous polyurethane foam pour-line maintenance experience is highly preferred. What You'll Do Troubleshoot and repair foam pour-line and production equipment Fix and service metering pump systems, conveyor belts, conveyor systems, cut-off saw Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime Inspect metering systems, seals, valves, couplings, and filters regularly to prevent chemical blockage. Assist in developing new and modify existing PM's to reduce downtime. Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic issues on the production line and downstream conveying systems Maintain and repair motors, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, drives, and other production equipment Troubleshoot equipment during production and respond quickly to breakdowns Read mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, schematics, equipment manuals, and engineering specifications Remove, repair, replace, and adjust defective or worn equipment components Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring and testing equipment Perform equipment alignment and adjustments Fabricate or modify repair parts as needed Assist with welding, machining, and fabrication when required Complete preventive maintenance inspections and identify potential equipment failures before they cause downtime Maintain maintenance records and communicate equipment issues and outstanding repairs across shifts Work closely with production to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime Ensure systems adhere to OSHA guidelines, manage hazardous chemical residues properly, and maintain a clean workspace. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment What We're Looking For Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment Strong background in industrial mechanics, electricity, hydraulics, and or pneumatics. Flexible slab polyurethane foam pour-line maintenance experience strongly preferred Familiarity with chemical transfer systems, dispensing units, gearboxes, and mix-head technology Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals to diagnose and repair failures quickly Working knowledge of hazardous material handling and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures Industrial electrical experience preferred Experience with motors, pumps, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, gearboxes, and production machinery Ability to read schematics, diagrams, and equipment manuals Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment Welding, machining, or fabrication experience is a plus Textile, chemical-processing, or continuous-process manufacturing experience is a plus Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability Ability to work independently and respond effectively to production breakdowns Strong commitment to safety, equipment reliability, and productivityThe Person We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who is comfortable being on the floor, getting into the equipment, finding the problem, and getting production safely back up and running.
