•28.00/hour, depending on experience and qualifications About Edgecombe Furniture Edgecombe Furniture is a manufacturer of upholstered seating furniture serving commercial and hospitality customers. Our production operation relies on industrial sewing machines, CNC routers, fabric-cutting equipment, and other specialized manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality upholstered furniture components. We are looking for an experienced Industrial Sewing Machine & Production Equipment Mechanic who understands production equipment inside and out and can keep our manufacturing operation running efficiently. This is a critical position within our manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will be able to diagnose problems, perform preventative maintenance, make adjustments and repairs, and keep our equipment operating properly to minimize production downtime. Position Overview The Industrial Sewing Machine & Production Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, service, adjustment, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial sewing machines and other production equipment , including CNC routers and fabric-cutting machinery. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills and be comfortable identifying mechanical and operational problems, determining the root cause, and making the necessary adjustments or repairs. We are specifically looking for someone who understands how industrial production equipment works—not simply someone who knows how to operate it. Equipment Our manufacturing operation utilizes a variety of production equipment, including: United industrial sewing machines JUKI industrial sewing machines CNC routers Fabric-cutting machines Industrial sewing machine attachments and related equipment Motors, drives, belts, feed systems, and other mechanical components Other specialized production machinery and equipment Key ResponsibilitiesIndustrial Sewing Equipment Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial sewing machines. Perform routine preventative maintenance on sewing equipment. Adjust machine timing, tension, feed mechanisms, presser feet, needles, and other machine components. Troubleshoot stitching problems and determine whether issues are related to machine settings, mechanical components, thread, needles, or other factors. Replace worn, damaged, or defective machine parts. Properly set up and adjust machines for different sewing operations and materials. Maintain proper machine performance to ensure consistent stitch quality. Identify potential mechanical problems before they result in equipment failure or production downtime. CNC Routers & Fabric-Cutting Equipment Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, adjustments, and repairs on CNC routers and fabric-cutting equipment. Diagnose mechanical and operational issues with CNC and cutting equipment. Inspect and maintain motors, belts, bearings, drives, blades, cutting components, and other mechanical systems. Assist with machine setup, adjustments, calibration, and changeovers. Troubleshoot equipment issues that affect cutting accuracy, quality, or production efficiency. Replace worn or damaged components as needed. Work with operators to identify recurring equipment problems and determine the root cause. Coordinate outside service or technical support when repairs require specialized assistance. General Equipment Maintenance Respond quickly to machine breakdowns and production issues. Identify potential equipment problems before they result in significant downtime. Maintain an appropriate inventory of commonly used parts, supplies, and tools. Work with production employees to troubleshoot equipment-related issues. Train and assist operators with proper equipment operation and basic troubleshooting when needed. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs. Assist with installation and setup of new production equipment. Help evaluate equipment needs and recommend repairs, replacement parts, or equipment improvements. Keep the equipment maintenance area clean, organized, and properly stocked. Follow all company safety procedures. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience servicing, repairing, or maintaining industrial sewing machines and/or manufacturing equipment . Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of industrial sewing machine components and their functions. Experience with JUKI, United, or similar industrial sewing machines . Mechanical experience with CNC routers, fabric-cutting machines, or similar production equipment. Understanding of machine timing, tension, feed systems, needles, presser feet, motors, belts, bearings, drives, and other mechanical components. Ability to read and understand machine manuals, technical information, and equipment documentation. Strong attention to detail. Ability to diagnose problems and determine the appropriate repair or adjustment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize repairs based on production needs. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Experience Requirements Required:

Demonstrated mechanical experience maintaining, repairing, servicing, or troubleshooting industrial machinery or production equipment. Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs and adjustments.

Preferred:

Experience servicing industrial sewing machines . Experience with JUKI and United industrial sewing machines . Experience with CNC routers or CNC-related production equipment. Experience with fabric-cutting machinery. Experience in furniture, upholstery, textile, or other manufacturing environments. Experience maintaining multiple types of industrial production equipment. Experience diagnosing recurring machine problems and determining the underlying cause. Experience ordering or maintaining an inventory of replacement parts. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Stand and walk throughout the manufacturing facility for extended periods. Bend, stoop, reach, and work in various positions while servicing equipment. Use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical tools. Lift and move machine parts and equipment as necessary. Work around an active manufacturing environment. Work safely around moving machinery, CNC equipment, cutting equipment, and production machinery.

•12:00 PM Saturday work may be required during particularly busy production periods. Why This Position Is Important Our production operation depends on the reliable performance of our sewing machines, CNC routers, fabric-cutting equipment, and other manufacturing machinery. When equipment is not operating correctly, it can affect quality, productivity, and our ability to meet customer deadlines. The person in this position will play an important role in keeping our production equipment operating efficiently, maintaining equipment reliability, and minimizing production downtime.
