Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Thermoforming

Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Thermoforming Maintenance Mechanic to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining high-speed plastic thermoforming machinery and auxiliary plant equipment. Your primary goal will be to maximize equipment uptime, ensure product quality, and maintain a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot & Repair:
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, and electrical failures on thermoforming machinery, trim presses, and packaging equipment. Preventive Maintenance (PM): Execute scheduled PM routines on production lines, chillers, air compressors, and material handling systems to prevent unexpected downtime.
Setup & Changeovers:
Assist production operators with mold installations, tooling swaps, and machine calibrations for new production runs.
Continuous Improvement:
Modify and upgrade existing machinery to improve cycle times, minimize waste, and enhance operator safety.
Documentation:
Accurate complete daily work orders, log parts used in the inventory system, and document machine history.
Safety First:
Adhere strictly to all plant safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hazardous material handling, and PPE requirements.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (plastics, thermoforming, or blow molding experience highly preferred).
Technical Knowledge:
Strong working knowledge of hydraulic valves, pneumatic cylinders, vacuum systems, pumps, and mechanical drive components.
Electrical Skills:
Ability to troubleshoot 110V/220V/480V systems, read electrical schematics, and work with AC/DC motors and drives (PLC troubleshooting is a plus).
Blueprints & Schematics:
Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints, hydraulic schematics, and equipment manuals.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stand or walk for extended periods during a shift.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required; Technical degree or journeyman certification in industrial maintenance is preferred. Must be bilingual Englis, Spanish, Russian, Uranian and Polish.
Pay:
$28.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 48.0 per week
