Job Description
Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Day Shift Maintenance Mechanic to keep our manufacturing operations running safely and reliably. In this role, you'll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, motors, and heavy industrial equipment, troubleshoot breakdowns, and support equipment upgrades. Responsibilities Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, conveyors, motors, and production lines during day shift operations Troubleshoot mechanical failures and minimize downtime using root-cause analysis and safe work practices Inspect, adjust, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to support reliable manufacturing operations Read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and work orders to complete repairs accurately Collaborate with production, safety, and engineering teams to prioritize maintenance tasks and support continuous improvement Document maintenance work, parts usage, and equipment condition in computerized maintenance systems Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and housekeeping standards in a heavy industrial environment Support installation, alignment, and commissioning of new or upgraded plant equipment as needed Required Skills Industrial maintenance Mechanical troubleshooting Preventive maintenance Hydraulics and pneumatics Welding and fabrication Reading technical drawings Root-cause analysis Lockout/Tagout procedures Use of hand and power tools CMMS documentation
