Job Description
Journeyman Electrician / Lead Installer - Solar & Battery Storage Green Gold Electric LLC is a growing electrical contractor serving the greater Houston area. We are looking for a Texas-licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our field operations, with the opportunity to develop into a Lead Installer as we expand. Our current workload consists primarily of residential battery energy storage and solar retrofit installations, with additional work including solar detach & resets, service/panel work, generators, EV charging, and general residential electrical projects.
Compensation:
$32-$40/hour, depending on experience and demonstrated ability. Initial work will be hourly while working directly alongside the owner/Master Electrician to become familiar with our equipment, installation standards, and project workflow. The goal is for the successful candidate to progress into a Lead Installer role , working with an apprentice/helper and independently completing the field installation portion of projects from approved plansets. Once that capability has been demonstrated, there will be an opportunity to transition toward production/per-install compensation with greater earning potential based on responsibility and efficiency. Responsibilities Read and install from electrical plansets, one-lines, and manufacturer documentation Layout and mount electrical, solar, and battery-storage equipment Install and properly support EMT, PVC, and flexible raceways Pull, identify, and terminate conductors Install and terminate residential battery energy storage equipment Perform residential solar/ESS retrofit work and solar detach & resets Maintain clean, professional equipment layouts and workmanship Identify field conditions that conflict with plans or require additional direction Coordinate with and direct an apprentice/helper as the role progresses Complete installations in accordance with NEC, manufacturer requirements, approved plans, and company standards Maintain a clean and safe jobsite and communicate professionally with customers and other trades Required Qualifications Active Texas Journeyman Electrician license Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Strong residential electrical fundamentals Ability to read electrical plansets and one-line diagrams Ability to bend and install conduit cleanly and efficiently Ability to work independently and exercise sound electrical judgment Dependable attendance and communication Ability to perform the physical requirements of residential electrical, solar, and battery installations Preferred Experience Residential solar PV and battery energy storage systems (ESS) Solar detach & reset Enphase, SolarEdge, Tesla, Duracell, or similar equipment Residential service/panel work Crew-lead or apprentice-supervision experience Electrical troubleshooting Schedule This is initially a part-time W-2 position with approximately 16-40 hours per week depending on project workload. Work is primarily scheduled on weekdays and generally consists of full project days when installations are scheduled. Routine weekend work is not expected, although occasional weekend availability may be helpful. Project locations vary throughout the greater Houston area. What We're Looking For We do not expect a new hire to already know our specific battery systems. Training will be provided on the equipment, installation requirements, and project workflow. We do expect a licensed Journeyman Electrician to bring solid electrical fundamentals, professional workmanship, problem-solving ability, and the desire to become increasingly independent as familiarity with our systems develops.
