Job Description

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC
Ensure food safety, quality and legality Troubleshoot mechanical problems Make repairs and alterations for facility as directed Performs mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance as required Assists in the assembly and dismantling of production machinery Maintains accurate record of completed assignments Keeps management informed of machinery and facility problems Assists in other departmental areas as needed Extensive mobility and excellent physical condition; ability to lift 75 lbs.; ability to operate all necessary hand tools; ability to kneel, crouch, climb, crawl, etc. to reach items in need of repair; ability to drive forklift, yard dog, and truck; tolerance to all extreme weather conditions, such as very hot or very cold temperatures. Communication skills (listening, feedback, presentation) Teambuilding and the ability to work through others to accomplish tasks In-depth knowledge of facility operations, people, products, and equipment Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements and guidelines necessary to operating a raw processing facility Financial analytical skills to estimate costs, do cost-benefit analyses, and investigate reports Computer skills: blueprints, drawings, layouts, spreadsheets, and powerful, yet simple, presentations Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
