Job Description

$35 up to $38 per hour, DOE Apply, Interview, Get Hired - Immediate Hire! Plant Mechanic, Bakery Manufacturer ReConserve of Washington—Tacoma, Inc. has over 85 years of experience -- is the largest, most experienced recycler of bakery, cereal grain, snack foods, and related food by-products in the United States. We provide sanitary, efficient removal and recycling services to the food and feed manufacturing industries nationwide. Ideal candidate has 3-years of experience troubleshooting and repairing a variety of grain conveying and processing equipment. You will be installing, repairing, maintaining and refurbishing all equipment as it pertains to the production / manufacturing of grain based products. Efficient and effective plant operations are a priority, so the plant mechanic will be expected to consistently execute a preventative maintenance program and correct potential concerns before becoming a downtime issue.
Required Education and Experience:
  • 3-years of Plant Mechanic experience in manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or GED degree or related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • You must have reliable transportation to be available for work 24/7.
  • Clean driving record.
Work Schedule:
  • These are generally a minimum of 8-hour shifts. Some weekends are necessary
  • Shift hours: 6 am - 2:30 pm
  • Shift days: Monday - Friday
  • You must be available for overtime and working weekends and holidays on occasion.
  • On call for off shift emergency repairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner in compliance with safety programs and procedures.
  • Observe and test the operation of equipment to diagnose malfunctions and initiate the appropriate repairs.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on processing equipment and ancillary equipment.
  • Knowledge in blueprints and schematics with the ability to read.
  • Experience with fabrication is essential.
  • Ability to weld and cut parts using arc-welding and wire welding as well as flame cutting equipment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic lift systems used on mobile powered equipment.
  • Knowledge in electrical systems with the ability to troubleshoot and fix electrical problems including wiring up to 480 volts.
  • Knowledge of single and three phase motors is a plus.
  • Keep stock ready by updating inventories and logging usage.
  • Ability to operate shop equipment such as drill press, band saw, bench grinder, etc.
  • Ability to use standard measuring tools (meters, micrometers, gauges).
  • Operate a forklift, skid loader, front-end loader and miscellaneous equipment as needed to complete duties.
  • Maintain your work areas and facilities properly.
