Each greenskeeper may be assigned responsibility for the care and maintenance of several designated holes on the golf course and does related work as required. Responsibilities and expectations will include the following: Operates many different walking and riding mowers ranging in size from small walk-behind mowers to large riding mowers for care of greens, tees, fairways, and roughs. Operates small power tools such as string trimmers, leaf blowers, landscape hedge trimmers, chainsaws as well as manual hand tools such as shovels, rakes, handsaws, hedge clippers, and axes. Engage in various aspects of golf course maintenance that include but not limited to wide range of bunker raking and detail work, tree trimming maintenance, setting tee markers, change cups, golf course debris cleanup and removal, general landscape and flower bed maintenance. Clear walkways of debris providing proper care of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains and other grounds features. Maintain tools, equipment and structures such as buildings, greenhouses, fences, and benches. Support country club as needed. Special projects as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Able to interact successfully with a variety of people in person with attention to comprehending information. Excellent oral communication skills as well as understanding written communication in work related documents. Time management and independent thinking skills are a must. Must be confident of skills and have the ability to make sound, independent decisions when appropriate; have the willingness to adjust to and conform to varying schedules; have excellent communication skills; and be able to get along well with others.

Education & Experience:

High-school graduate or GED equivalent required; vocational school preferred. Possession of a valid drivers license. Entry level, 1-2 years experience in the maintenance industry preferred. Working knowledge of equipment including mowers, lawn edgers, trimmers and leaf blowers preferred, but not required.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while working on the grounds, have good communication skills (i.e., communicate clearly and effectively in both written and spoken English). Must be able to lift and move materials weighing up to 110 pounds - maintaining grounds require bending, climbing, stooping, carrying and/or lifting materials. Performing movements which require considerable movement of arms, legs and moving entire body as well as running, maneuvering and navigating vehicles and mechanized equipment. Must be able to work outdoors exposed to all weather conditions. May come in contact with various insecticides, fumes, fertilizers, exhaust and other pollutants. Must be able to see and work with other employees and work in open area. May be required at times to work longer than the normal 8 hour work day. Are you ready to join our team?
