MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT

Job Description

We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated Maintenance Assistant to join our Maintenance team. This hands-on position supports the maintenance department by performing a variety of facility, equipment, and general maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, follows instructions well, and is willing to assist maintenance workers and technicians with projects as needed. [Full-time, 1st shift] Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Operate forklifts safely and efficiently Empty dumpsters and maintain facility cleanliness Sweep floors and perform general housekeeping duties Remove cobwebs and dust from ceilings and facility structures Replace emergency light batteries Change coolant barrels Repair and maintain urinals, toilets, and drains Lubricate and oil machinery as required Assist maintenance workers and technicians with repairs, installations, and projects Complete preventive maintenance tasks as assigned Follow safety procedures and company policies Perform repetitive tasks and routine maintenance activities Maintain work areas in a clean and organized manner Other duties as assigned This role may require occasional travel to support maintenance activities and special projects at other Cope Plastics locations. Education:
Requires a high school education or GED. 2 years of Vocational/Technical School preferred
Experience:
Requires a minimum of one year of experience in machinery maintenance, electricity and plumbing, or basic grounds maintenance and upkeep. License(s)/Certification(s)
Required:
Forklift License required
