Job Description

at Department of Military Affairs in Sparta, Illinois, United States Job Description Position Overview The Department of Military Affairs is looking to hire a Building and Grounds Maintenance Worker on the Traveling Maintenance Team South located out of Sparta, Illinois. This position under direct supervision, regularly performs a variety of semi-skilled labor or building mechanical work below the journeyman level and may directly assist skilled craftsmen; or operates heavy equipment, as required, in the maintenance of the facility and grounds. The Department of Military Affairs works with the members of the Illinois Air and Army National Guard.  We welcome all interested applicants to apply. Essential Functions Performs routine ground maintenance of facilities as assigned and/or supervised by Team Military Maintenance Engineer. Travels to various locations throughout Southern IL to perform job duties as a member of the South Maintenance Team. Performs routine maintenance of facilities and assists certified personnel on the maintenance team. Loads and unloads trucks as assigned by the Military Maintenance Engineer. Performs additional duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school plus one year of maintenance work experience preferably associated with the building/mechanical trades and/or heavy equipment operation. To view full details and how to apply, please login or create a Job Seeker account
