Channel your talents! St. Mary's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in historic Leonardtown, Maryland, has an immediate need for a FT Maintenance Assistant. Under the direction of the Maintenance director, the primary responsibilities of this position are to help maintain the facility - internally and externally - in a safe and aesthetically pleasing manner in accordance with regulations, as well as internal procedures and guidelines. Additional responsibilities of the position include performing repairs, maintaining equipment, and completing administrative tasks associated with monitoring and tracking preventive maintenance schedules. The ideal candidate will possess a basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and building control systems. Must have some exposure to carpentry, drywall repair and painting. On-the-job training provided. Should possess a valid and current Maryland driver's license and be able to rotate on-call responsibilities with the other members of the maintenance department as necessary such as periodic transportation of residents. The successful candidate will be reliable, energetic, be able to work independently, have a strong work ethic, and enjoy working with the elderly.
