Position Overview The Groundskeeper / Maintenance Assistant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the property. This role supports daily upkeep, routine maintenance, and seasonal tasks to ensure the grounds and facilities remain in excellent condition for guests, residents, and staff. Key Responsibilities Grounds Maintenance Mow lawns, trim edges, and perform regular weedeating across the property. Remove weeds using both manual methods and approved chemical spraying. Collect and dispose of limbs, branches, trash, and general debris. Maintain landscaping beds, trees, shrubs, and common outdoor areas. Property Upkeep Pressure wash buildings, walkways, docks, and other surfaces as needed. Assist with minor repairs and general maintenance tasks around the property. Inspect grounds and facilities regularly to identify issues or hazards. Support seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, storm cleanup, and winter preparation. Equipment & Safety Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, sprayers, etc.). Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of chemicals and machinery. Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly. General Support Assist maintenance staff with projects, repairs, and improvements. Respond to property needs or requests in a timely and professional manner. Maintain a clean and organized work area, storage spaces, and equipment sheds. Qualifications Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or general maintenance preferred. Ability to operate lawn and maintenance equipment safely. Basic understanding of outdoor maintenance, weed control, and property care. Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and perform manual labor. Reliable, selfmotivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Work Environment This position involves outdoor work, exposure to weather, and physical activity. The Groundskeeper / Maintenance Assistant plays a key role in keeping the property welcoming, safe, and visually appealing.
