Facilities and Operations Salary Starting at $19.52 per hour (higher rates available based on relevant experience) Hours Monday through Friday 6:30am - 3:00pm Reports To Assigned Supervisor About Us The Francis Howell School District (FHSD) is committed to maintaining safe and functional facilities for our students and staff. Job Summary The Maintenance Worker performs a variety of skilled maintenance tasks to ensure the functionality and safety of facilities. This role involves completing work orders, maintaining tools and equipment, and supporting other maintenance staff.
Key Responsibilities Maintenance Services:
Perform skilled maintenance tasks including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
Installation & Repairs:
Install and repair materials and systems such as carpet, tile, roofing, cabinetry, drywall, and electrical systems.
Tool & Equipment Management:
Maintain and manage tools, vehicles, and equipment to ensure their availability and safe operation.
Project Oversight:
Oversee outside contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and according to specifications.
Documentation:
Prepare and maintain written materials such as repair status reports and activity logs.
Routine Maintenance:
Conduct routine and preventive maintenance to ensure facilities remain operational.
Problem Solving:
Analyze blueprints, schematics, and drawings, estimate labor and materials, and fabricate parts as needed.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; specialized training in maintenance trades preferred.
Experience:
Relevant job experience in a specialized maintenance field is required.
Skills:
Proficiency in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical trades. Skilled in using hand and power tools, operating various equipment, and driving motor vehicles.
Knowledge:
Methods, practices, and tools used in various trades. Health and safety regulations, and maintenance requirements for facilities.
Abilities:
Ability to follow directions, work independently, and solve problems. Capability to work with diverse individuals and maintain effective working relationships.
