As a Maintenance Worker I with our Streets team, you may be called upon to perform a variety of tasks to ensure the city streets, parking lots, sidewalks, storm sewers, and rights-of-way are well-maintained and safe for public use including: Filling potholes and working on concrete & asphalt projects Operating various light and heavy construction equipment (i.e., hand & power tools, jackhammers, trucks, front-end loaders, and skid steers) Engaging in snow removal and storm debris clean up Performing preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment Helping with the set-up and clean-up for community events Providing support to the other Public Works teams as needed

Note:

In this particular position, you will be tasked primarily with the maintenance of traffic signals, city street/road signs, and pavement markings/paint striping .

Qualifications and skills needed:

High school diploma or GED equivalent Possess a valid driver's license Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Basic knowledge of hand and power tools Strong work ethic, good attitude, and attention to detail Ability to maintain regular and dependable attendance This is a full-time position working Monday - Friday fro m 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (Labor Day to Memorial Day) and from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm (Memorial Day to Labor Day) A background check, physical examination, and drug screen will follow all conditional offers of employment.
