Armaspec is seeking a maintenance/custodial person to keep a machine shop tidy and clean. This newly created position will be part-time for 20 hours a week. However, the position has a possibility of becoming 30-hours or even full-time. This is an entry level position and training, where needed, will be supplied; however, it does require working in a hot building in the summer and cold in the winter. The conditions can be oily and messy during clean-up. This is a physically demanding position that requires reaching, lifting of up to 50 pounds, bending down, at times working high up, climbing ladders, operating forklift, and pallet jacks; and lots of hand scrubbing. The job duties are, but not limited to: daily:- emptying hoppers containing metal chips in the morning
- draining oil to reuse
- sweeping floor
- mopping spills weekly:
- wiping and keeping clean the outside of CNC mills and lathes
- emptying trash
- regular cleaning of some machine parts
- cleaning inside machinery other duties:
- keeping the outside areas clean and trimmed of weeds (2 facilities)
- pickup of litter
- deeper cleaning of sections of building
- organizing parts and items in general and supply area
- maintaining filters
- changing lightbulbs, etc.
- general basic fixing (if you have the skills and competency) This is a great job for semi-retired (with hustle), or people that need additional hours.
