Full-Time Position Summary Apartment complex in Cohoes is seeking a dependable and hardworking Maintenance Worker to assist with the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of residential properties and grounds. This position plays an important role in ensuring safe, clean, and comfortable living environments for residents. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform general maintenance and repair work in apartments, common areas, and exterior grounds. Complete work orders involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and basic HVAC repairs. Prepare vacant units for new resident occupancy. Conduct routine inspections of buildings and equipment. Repair doors, windows, locks, flooring, fixtures, and appliances as needed. Maintain building grounds, including snow removal, lawn care, and litter cleanup. Respond to maintenance emergencies and resident service requests in a timely manner. Operate and maintain maintenance tools and equipment safely. Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and housing authority policies. Assist with preventive maintenance programs and property improvement projects. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in building maintenance, apartment maintenance, construction, or a related field preferred. Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair techniques. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
