Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facilities maintenance and demonstrate proficiency in various technical skills. This role requires a proactive approach to maintaining equipment and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. The Maintenance Assistant will work closely with other team members to support daily operations and contribute to the overall success of our facility. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment and facilities to ensure optimal functionality. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues as they arise. Operate and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automated systems. Utilize welding skills for repairs and modifications as needed. Read and interpret schematics to assist in diagnosing issues effectively. Conduct residential painting projects to maintain aesthetic standards within the facility. Supervise junior maintenance staff, providing guidance and leadership when necessary. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Provide exceptional customer service by addressing facility-related concerns from staff and visitors promptly. Experience Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform repairs on various equipment types. Familiarity with electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques is essential. Experience in manufacturing environments is a plus, demonstrating an understanding of industrial operations. Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication with team members and stakeholders. Previous supervisory experience is advantageous, showcasing leadership abilities within a maintenance context. Knowledge of using an ohmmeter for electrical testing is beneficial.
