Job Description

Overview:
Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Production / Maintenance Engineer Supervisor to oversee and maintain our high-precision automated battery component manufacturing lines. This role combines deep hands-on expertise in precision tooling/stamping dies and PLC-based automation system troubleshooting with supervisory leadership. Because our advanced equipment and tooling are designed and imported directly from Japan, the selected candidate will undergo a structured hands-on onboarding period working directly on the production line to master the specific mechanics, tooling nuances, and operational workflows required for engineering success. Key Responsibilities 1. Hands-on Tooling Maintenance & Precision Adjustment Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, alignment, and mechanical repairs on high-precision stamping tooling and dies. This includes but is not limited to surface grinding precision adjustments, understanding servo motors and timing connections Conduct post-adjustment product inspection using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM, optical comparators) and obtain/maintain internal measurement certifications. Collaborate with Japanese expatriate engineers to transfer technical knowledge, review technical drawings, and implement tool modifications or process improvements. 2.

7D273FA0-6804-81BF-838E-AA5737A2E02A Utilize PLC programming software (e.g., (FANUC, Mitsubishi Electric, Keyence, Omron, SICK, etc.) to diagnose, troubleshoot, and optimize automated assembly line faults. Troubleshoot sensors, robotics, pneumatics, and vision systems to minimize unexpected downtime and maintain strict cycle-time targets. 3. Supervisory Leadership & Operations Supervise, mentor, and guideline technicians and operators during assigned shifts. Act as the primary technical point of contact during equipment breakdowns and complex continuous improvement projects. Support 365-day continuous production operations on a 2-2-3 shift pattern. Respond to occasional emergency on-call requests (estimated 2-3 times per month) to support critical line stoppages. Initial Onboarding & Training Phase (First 3 Months) To effectively engineer and supervise our specialized production lines, all engineering staff complete an intensive 3-month hands-on line operation and manufacturing onboarding program. During this period, you will directly operate equipment, gain end-to-end operational mastery of the manufacturing process, and understand the precise tolerances of our imported Japanese tooling and automation technology.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
Experience:
5+ years of hands-on experience in precision tooling/die maintenance, automated manufacturing lines, and equipment maintenance within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
PLC Expertise:
Proficiency in connecting, monitoring, and troubleshooting automated machinery using PLC software.
Precision Measurement:
Strong background in using dimensional measurement equipment; willingness to obtain internal measurement certifications upon hire.

A Leadership:
Demonstrated experience or strong capacity to serve in a supervisory/leadership role.
Work Schedule Flexibility:
Ability to work a 12-hour (2-2-3) permanent shift (Day or Night) and participate in an on-call rotation (2-3 times/month). Lean/Continuous Improvement and/or Kaizen improvement highly preferred Preferred /
Cultural Attributes:
Experience working in a global or Japanese-owned manufacturing environment. High degree of cultural empathy, openness to working alongside expatriate engineers, and patience with cross-cultural communication. Work Environment & Physical Demands Shift Structure:
2-2-3 continuous operation schedule (12-hour shifts).
Compensation:
Salary Exempt Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to [e.g., 35 lbs.], stand/walk for extended periods on the plant floor, and wear required PPE. Forklift, Boom Lift certifications/knowledge preferred
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
