Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Facility Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep and operational functionality of our self-storage facility. This is a part-time role ideal for someone who enjoys light physical work, takes pride in keeping things running smoothly, and can work independently with minimal supervision. The role also includes occasional on-call availability for emergencies or unexpected situations that may require urgent attention.
Key Responsibilities:
Routine Facility Inspections, Maintenance & Clean-Up:
Walk the property to ensure a clean and presentable environment Sweep hallways, remove trash and debris from the premises Light physical labor (lifting up to 30 lbs) Conduct routine checks of doors, units, HVAC systems, cameras, lighting, bathrooms (if applicable), the front office, and general building upkeep. Ensure all equipment and infrastructure are functioning as expected Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify issues and implement corrective actions.
Conduct Walkaround & Report:
Document and report on the condition of every unit (with photos) Identify and photograph any damage, repair needs, or cleanliness concerns
Vendor Coordination:
Meet with service providers (e.g., pest control, landscapers, HVAC techs) and oversee on-site work when needed Report vendor performance or delays to management
Quarterly Auction Prep:
(Additional Compensation Provided) Perform lock cuts and replacements as needed Photograph units for auction listing Coordinate with the office team for timely processing
Qualifications:
Prior experience in facility maintenance, self-storage, or property management preferred Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Basic knowledge of tools and general repair tasks Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet to take and send photos and manage correspondences Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
On-Call Availability:
(Additional Compensation Provided) Be available on an as-needed basis for emergency situations or special one-off requests (e.g., urgent lock issues, unexpected facility concerns) Why Join Us?
