Job Description:
Serves as a working supervisor responsible for directing and participating in the cleaning and appearance of academic, administrative, and residential buildings. Oversees staffing, training, safety compliance, quality assurance, scheduling, and resource management to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming campus environment. Essential Functions of the
Position:
Supervise, coach, schedule, and direct Building Services staff. Ensure staff are trained and equipped to perform assigned work Assign cleaning activities and resources to best achieve assigned cleanliness. Ensure that facilities are clean and staffed for scheduled special events during and after normal working hours Identify and coordinate the use of contractors to provide special services such as carpet cleaning and pest control. Ensure general lighting, emergency lighting, and exit lighting all to a height of 8 feet are clean and working. Provide cleaning and safety training to all new employees Manage expenditures to an assigned budget Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and corrective action when necessary. Manage assigned inventory of supplies, equipment and consumables. Maintain current Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for products used by Building Services Manage hazardous materials and disposal of hazardous waste generated by Building Services. Approve employee time records and monitor attendance. Participate in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention of staff.
Requirements:
Required Experience & Education:
High school diploma or GED required. Post-secondary education, technical training, or industry certifications in custodial management, facilities maintenance, or related field preferred. Supervisory experience is required preferably in housekeeping and a multi-building facilities environment. Experience in housekeeping/custodial services in a high volume, quick turnaround environment required. Maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record per the College's established standards.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to climb ladders occasionally. Ability to stand, walk, twist, and bend regularly in order to efficiently complete duties. Ability to push, pull, and maneuver cleaning equipment e.g. vacuums, brooms, mops, buffers. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly, during garbage removal or to move items to clean under or behind them.
