Shop Foreman / Maintenance Supervisor Sester Farms is looking for an experienced Shop Foreman / Maintenance Supervisor to join our Maintenance Team.
THIS IS A HANDS-ON LEADERSHIP POSITION.
Sester Farms is seeking an experienced, self-motivated farm mechanic with proven supervisory experience to lead our equipment and vehicle repair shop. This role oversees the day-to-day operation of the shop, including scheduling repairs, ordering parts, supervising mechanics, and keeping our fleet and farm equipment running reliably across our fast-paced wholesale nursery operation. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience as a farm or agricultural mechanic , combined with the ability to schedule and prioritize repair work, manage parts ordering, supervise a small shop team, and maintain accurate records in our equipment and vehicle repair tracking software. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the mechanics shop, including assigning and prioritizing repair work. Perform hands-on diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenance on farm equipment, tractors, implements, and company vehicles. Schedule equipment and vehicle repairs to minimize downtime and keep the operation running smoothly. Order parts and supplies, obtain estimates, and coordinate purchasing to keep repairs on schedule and on budget. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in the shop's equipment and vehicle repair tracking software, including work orders, parts used, and repair history. Help establish and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for the equipment and vehicle fleet. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on farm equipment and develop practical repair solutions. Train, direct, and develop shop personnel while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity. Work closely with management and other departments to identify equipment needs and opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency. Ensure the shop is organized, safe, and well-maintained, and that work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. Qualifications Proven experience as a farm or agricultural mechanic. Previous supervisory or lead experience, ideally in a shop or maintenance setting. Experience scheduling repair work and prioritizing multiple jobs in a fast-paced environment. Experience ordering parts and coordinating with vendors and suppliers. Comfortable using computer software to track equipment and vehicle repairs, work orders, and maintenance history. Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills across engines, hydraulics, and general farm equipment. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to find solutions when the answer isn't obvious. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have own basic hand tools. Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus. Schedule Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend and after-hours availability as needed during peak seasons.
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
$ $70,000-$90,000 annually (Based on qualifications and experience). Benefits include Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, and 401(k).
