CONEMAUGH VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT VACANCY NOTICE

Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds The Conemaugh Valley School District is seeking a dependable, motivated, and experienced individual to serve as the district's Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supervising maintenance and custodial personnel while ensuring that district facilities and grounds remain safe, clean, functional, and well maintained.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervise, schedule, and provide direction to maintenance and custodial employees
• Promote accountability, teamwork, and high standards throughout the department
• Coordinate daily maintenance, custodial, and groundskeeping operations
• Inspect district buildings and grounds and prioritize needed repairs
• Perform and coordinate preventive maintenance and facility improvement projects
• Manage snow and ice removal operations, including working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and during emergencies as needed
• Assist with purchasing, inventory, work orders, and outside contractors
• Respond to facility emergencies and other operational needs
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements and district procedures
• Work collaboratively with district administrators, employees, contractors, and community partners

Required Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to supervise, organize, and manage employees effectively
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds
• Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Availability for snow removal, emergencies, and work outside of regular operating hours
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• General knowledge of building maintenance, equipment operation, and workplace safety
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to obtain all employment clearances required for work in a Pennsylvania public school

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous supervisory or facilities-management experience
• Professional experience or training in one or more skilled trades, including: o Plumbing o Electrical work o Carpentry o Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC)
• Experience maintaining commercial, institutional, or school facilities
• Experience operating snow-removal, lawn-maintenance, or other facilities equipment
• Relevant trade licenses, certifications, or technical training

Terms of Employment:

Full-time, 12-month position. Salary and benefits will be based on qualifications and experience.
