Job Description
CONEMAUGH VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICT VACANCY NOTICE
Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds The Conemaugh Valley School District is seeking a dependable, motivated, and experienced individual to serve as the district's Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supervising maintenance and custodial personnel while ensuring that district facilities and grounds remain safe, clean, functional, and well maintained.Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise, schedule, and provide direction to maintenance and custodial employees
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and high standards throughout the department
- Coordinate daily maintenance, custodial, and groundskeeping operations
- Inspect district buildings and grounds and prioritize needed repairs
- Perform and coordinate preventive maintenance and facility improvement projects
- Manage snow and ice removal operations, including working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and during emergencies as needed
- Assist with purchasing, inventory, work orders, and outside contractors
- Respond to facility emergencies and other operational needs
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements and district procedures
- Work collaboratively with district administrators, employees, contractors, and community partners
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, organize, and manage employees effectively
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds
- Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Availability for snow removal, emergencies, and work outside of regular operating hours
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- General knowledge of building maintenance, equipment operation, and workplace safety
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to obtain all employment clearances required for work in a Pennsylvania public school
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous supervisory or facilities-management experience
- Professional experience or training in one or more skilled trades, including: o Plumbing o Electrical work o Carpentry o Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC)
- Experience maintaining commercial, institutional, or school facilities
- Experience operating snow-removal, lawn-maintenance, or other facilities equipment
- Relevant trade licenses, certifications, or technical training
