Non-Exempt Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Pump Mechanic III to join the maintenance team at a refinery/renewable fuels facility in the Bakersfield, CA area. This is a hands-on maintenance position focused on the repair, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and installation of rotating equipment and associated systems. The ideal candidate will have strong refinery or similar heavy industrial experience and extensive hands-on knowledge of pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment. This position includes both field and shop work and requires availability for emergency call-outs, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Responsibilities Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on rotating equipment including API and ANSI pumps, gas compressors, steam turbines, gearboxes, blowers/fans, and air coolers Perform precision alignment of pumps, compressors, shafts, couplings, and other rotating machinery Diagnose equipment failures and identify worn, damaged, or problematic components Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, lubrication, and equipment servicing Use precision measurement tools to ensure proper equipment tolerances and alignment Balance rotating assemblies and assist with vibration-related troubleshooting Interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical drawings Operate manual and hydraulic bolting equipment Utilize oxy/acetylene welding and cutting equipment as required Assist with developing preventative maintenance procedures and rotating equipment maintenance practices Follow all site safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, confined space, fall protection, and other HSSE requirements Respond to emergency maintenance call-outs as required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Vocational training or apprenticeship preferred 6+ years of Journeyman-level mechanical maintenance experience 6+ years of maintenance experience within a refinery or similar process environment Strong hands-on experience repairing and rebuilding pumps and gas compressors Experience with rotating equipment alignment and precision measurement tools Knowledge of vibration analysis and common causes of rotating equipment vibration Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and equipment manuals Experience operating forklifts, manlifts, and scissor lifts Working knowledge of industrial math Experience with oxy/acetylene welding and cutting equipment Experience with manual and hydraulic bolting equipment Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screenings Strong commitment to safe work practices Physical Requirements This is a physically demanding industrial maintenance position.

Candidates must be able to:

Push, pull, lift, position, and transfer equipment or materials weighing at least 50 lbs. Stand and walk for extended periods Climb ladders and stairs and work on tanks, vessels, and structures Bend, crawl, and work in confined or awkward spaces Work around industrial equipment operating at high pressures and temperatures Wear required PPE, including fire-resistant clothing, steel-toe footwear, respiratory protection, and eye and hearing protection Schedule & Work Environment This position supports an operating facility and requires flexibility for scheduled maintenance as well as emergency maintenance needs. Candidates must be available for call-outs, nights, weekends, and holidays when required.

Compensation:

$43.78-$54.59 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Pay:

$90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
