Established in 1993, DAF Services Inc. has grown into a regional leader in the design, production, installation, and service of pumping, data acquisition, and automation solutions for the golf irrigation industry. We are seeking a Technician's Assistant with a basic mechanical aptitude who is dependable, adaptable, and eager to learn. This is a hands-on position supporting our technicians and installation crews in the field and in our shop. The Technician's Assistant will assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation pumping systems throughout the Northeast Region. Shop responsibilities will include fabrication preparation, including cutting, grinding, and preparing metal pipe and fittings, as well as assembling various mechanical components. This position involves working both indoors and outdoors year-round, as well as occasional overnight travel. Duties & Responsibilities Assist technicians and fabrication crews with the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation pumping systems. Prepare materials for fabrication, including cutting and grinding metal pipe, fittings, HDPE pipe and other components. Assist with the assembly of pumps, valves, pipe fittings, basic wiring and related equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow safety procedures and instructions while working with tools, equipment, and materials. Perform other duties as needed to support the team. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: Must be 21years or older with the ability to pass a DOT Physical Exam Mechanically inclined with a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or irrigation systems. Reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn new skills. A team player who can work effectively with technicians and crew members. Comfortable working in a variety of environments, including the shop, construction sites, and outdoors year-round. Willing and able to travel throughout the Northeast Region, including occasional overnight stays. Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs. or more and performing hands-on work for extended periods. Safety-conscious and committed to doing quality work.
