Lead Machine Technician

Job Description

The Lead Machine Technician is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production machinery and equipment. This role provides technical leadership to maintenance technicians, ensures equipment operates efficiently and safely, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to maximize productivity and minimize downtime. Key Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance according to established schedules. Coordinate machine installations, upgrades, and equipment modifications. Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime. Review maintenance logs and ensure accurate documentation of repairs and inspections. Assist in developing maintenance procedures and standard operating practices. Coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams to improve equipment performance. Maintain inventory of spare parts and recommend replacement components as needed. Train team members on proper maintenance techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures. Monitor machine performance and recommend continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reliability. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred. 5+ years of industrial maintenance or machine technician experience. Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and maintenance software. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying industrial environments. Preferred Skills Experience with CNC machines, conveyors, robotics, or automated manufacturing equipment. Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Welding, fabrication, or machining experience is a plus. Knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and industrial safety standards. Work Environment Manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial production facility. May require rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, or on-call availability. Exposure to machinery, noise, heat, and other industrial conditions. Pay:
$20.00 - $26.00 per hour
