Railing & Exterior Systems |
Travel Required Edge Rail and Screen Pay:
$24.00 - $32.00 per hour (based on experience), plus travel per diem
Job Type:
Full-time Schedule:
Monday-Friday, with overnight travel about 5-6 nights per month (overtime available) About Edge Rail and Screen Edge Rail and Screen fabricates and installs high-quality railing systems, screen rooms, awnings, and exterior products for residential and commercial clients. Because we fabricate in-house, our installers work from accurate shop drawings and well-built product, and their feedback from the field directly shapes how we build. We're growing, and we want experienced people who take pride in a clean, plumb, code-compliant install. Position Summary We're looking for a seasoned installer who can take a job from material delivery to final walkthrough with minimal supervision. You'll lead installs on commercial and residential projects, including multi-story work such as balcony guardrails, and represent Edge on site with general contractors and customers. This role includes regional travel of about 5-6 overnight stays per month. Lodging is company-paid, and you'll receive a daily per diem for meals while on the road. If you already know your way around a core drill, a set of shop drawings, and a fall protection plan, and you're ready to be paid for that experience, we want to talk to you. What You'll Do
- Lead and perform installation of aluminum railings, guardrails, handrails, screen rooms, awnings, and related systems
- Read and interpret shop drawings, architectural plans, and installation details, and verify field conditions before installing
- Take accurate field measurements and communicate dimensional issues back to the shop
- Lay out, core drill, and anchor posts into concrete, wood, and steel substrates to spec
- Direct and mentor helpers and less-experienced installers on site
- Coordinate with general contractors, superintendents, and other trades on schedule and site access
- Follow site safety plans, including fall protection, silica control, and equipment safety
- Complete punch lists and leave every job site clean, finished, and ready for inspection
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles and trailers What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on installation experience in railing, ornamental metal, glazing, fencing, or a closely related trade
- Proven ability to read shop drawings and work independently
- Experience with layout, core drilling, and epoxy and mechanical anchoring
- Commercial job site experience, including working at heights with personal fall arrest systems
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight about 5-6 nights per month
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record (required)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong communication skills and a professional presence with customers and contractors Preferred (Not Required)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Welding or fabrication experience (MIG/TIG on aluminum or steel)
- Aerial lift or telehandler experience or certification
- Previous crew lead or foreman experience Compensation & Benefits
- $24-$32 per hour based on experience and skill level
- Overtime available at time-and-a-half
- Company-paid lodging on overnight travel
- Daily meal per diem while traveling
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Simple IRA with company match
- Paid vacation and paid time off
- Tools and equipment provided
- Opportunity to advance into field supervision as the company grows How to Apply Apply today with your resume or a short summary of your installation experience.
