Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and mechanically skilled Shop Technician II to join our Riverside MO Rebuild Shop. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of mechanical operations, diagnosing, evaluating and repairing industrial equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will contribute significantly to the success of our Rebuild operations. Responsibilities Assist with rebuild jobs assigned areas such as welding, painting/blasting, cleaning, disassembly and assembly of equipment Assist with evaluation of rebuild jobs Safe and accurate operation of shop machinery (grinders, lathes, milling machines, etc.) and lift devices (chain hoists, pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.) Proper use of hand tools Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment Identifying dimensions, tolerances and part specifications from blueprints, manuals and technical documentation Understand and effectively follow all shop safety procedures Maintain a clean and organized work environment daily, ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored at the end of shifts Perform other duties as assigned by
Shop Supervisor Required Skills/Abilities:
Must demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude Must demonstrate an ability to TIG, MIG and stick weld Ability to meet deadlines, with attention to detail and a commitment to safety. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job Ability to operate various shop equipment Must be able to work independently or in a team setting Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations/procedure manuals, blueprints and sketches
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED (preferred) 5+ years of commercial construction, manufacturing, or fabrication shop experience (required) Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (required) Candidates with formal welding training, certification or demonstrated hands-on welding experience will be considered. Apprentice and/or Vocational/Technical/Trade training (preferred)
Working Environment:
May be exposed to varying temperatures, moving equipment, noise and exhaust fumes Due to the manufacturing environment, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required, including but not limited to safety glasses, goggles, aprons, steel-toe boots, gloves, respirators, etc. Specific environmental and physical requirements may vary by task Frequent activity: standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, carrying, swinging, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling, balancing Occasional activity: sitting, viewing computer screens Benefits of Working for

Pay:
$24.00 - $28.99 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
