Maintenance Phillips 66 & YOU - Together we can fuel the future The Rotating Equipment Mechanic (Machinist / Millwright), Billings Refinery performs preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. The Mechanic troubleshoots issues, repairs failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensures maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. The Mechanic is responsible for maintenance and repair of rotating equipment with emphasis on troubleshooting, diagnosing, inspection, repair to equipment including pumps, seals, fans, reciprocating compressors, centrifugal compressors, steam turbines and gearboxes and valves.

Operate machinery including:

CNC lathe, engine lathe, VTL, milling machine, horizontal boring machine, and grinders. This position requires the successful completion of an online assessment. What You'll Do Perform all work for which you are qualified, related to repairing, altering, fabricating, removing, installing, assembling, troubleshooting and servicing a wide variety of rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, steam turbines, gearboxes, etc.

Maintain and operate all equipment and tools to support and maintain required skills

Review work prior to start and have material, resources, information and tools on hand to achieve high levels of productivity

Review and interpret technical manuals/prores/specifications as needed to perform proper maintenance and repairs to equipment

Sustain a well-kept and orderly site in the performance of all work duties

Work in a team environment and assist other personnel in accomplishing tasks and major projects

Climb equipment and work in confined spaces, elevated heights, and outside in all weather conditions

Perform all duties in compliance with our Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System, applicable government regulations, industry best practices, and all other Phillips 66 policies and/or regulations What You'll Bring - Required Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

High School Diploma or GED

Willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to:

Climb up to 250 feet in height

Lift and transport materials (up to 64 pounds), bend, stoop, perform moderate manual labor, work in confined spaces, climb, and work at various levels above the ground

Follow safe work practices and prores

Read at a level to understand written safety prores, work prores, work permits, instruction manuals

Work outdoors including in inclement weather conditions

Work in enclosed spaces, such as tanks and silos

Work around chemicals, including acids and bases, that may be under high pressure and heat

Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines

Perform firefighting duties as needed

Maintain face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)

Wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to steel-toe shoes, ear protection, eye protection, fall protection, fire retardant clothing, hand protection, and head protection What Makes You Stand Out - Preferred Vocational or Technical schooling in a Mechanical or Maintenance field

Certified level 1 or higher Vibration Technician

3 or more years of experience repairing and maintaining refinery or chemical plant rotating equipment including pumps, seals, fans, reciprocating compressors, centrifugal compressors, steam turbines and gearboxes

5 or more years direct experience working as a Maintenance Mechanic in a refinery or petrochemical facility

Journeyman Machinist or Millwright experience

Experience with overhauling large centrifugal and reciprocating compressors

Ability to work all aspects of a pump shop precision repair program including parts fabrication and machining, seal and bearing installation, balancing and alignment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

•This is a union represented position.

•Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Compensation Hourly pay is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position has a starting hourly pay of $43.12 to $50.27, depending on demonstrated skills. Once training requirements for fully qualified Craftsman pay are achieved, the pay rate will be $54.11. This position has a 7.5% VCIP cash bonus target. The Billings Refinery is located in Billings, Montana. Its facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes a mixture of Canadian heavy, high-sulfur crude oil delivered by pipeline, and domestic crude oil delivered by truck. With the startup of a new vacuum distillation unit in 2017, the refinery has 100 percent heavy crude processing capability. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels and petroleum coke. Finished petroleum products are distributed by pipeline, rail car and truck. Pipelines transport most of the refined products to markets in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Colorado and Washington.
