General Foreman Provides day‑to‑day leadership to craft crews, oversees field execution, and ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with refinery standards, Austin Industrial procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct and supervise craft foremen and skilled craft teams during daily refinery operations, turnarounds, and maintenance activities. Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and work sequencing to ensure tasks are completed on schedule and within scope. Enforce site safety policies, procedures, and permit‑to‑work requirements; lead daily safety meetings and job hazard analyses. Monitor job progress, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure work quality and productivity standards are met. Collaborate with operations, planning, engineering, and contractor teams to support project execution. Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schedules, and specifications. Maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, time sheets, work orders, and toolbox talks. Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to craft personnel. Ensure compliance with OSHA, refinery regulations, and all applicable industry standards. Other duties as assigned. Employees must possess sufficient visual, hearing, communication, and motor skills to safely perform job responsibilities. Employees must be able to read, comprehend, and follow safety procedures, work instructions, and company policies; exercise sound judgment; solve problems; maintain attention to detail; effectively manage stress; and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment. Work may be performed in industrial and construction environments with exposure to weather conditions, temperature extremes, noise, dust, fumes, moving equipment, vibration, and other site-specific hazards. Employees must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements applicable to the position. Must be able to perform all job duties while maintaining a constant commitment to safety, quality, and productivity expectations.
Qualifications:
Experience in a refinery or petrochemical facility (strongly preferred). Multi‑craft or turnaround experience (preferred). Knowledge of SAP, maintenance management systems, or scheduling tools. Strong understanding of refinery safety practices, work permits, and hazard recognition. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, schedules, and job plans. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
License/Certification:
Valid driver's license and ability to meet site access requirements
Experience :
5+ years of industrial or refinery experience in a skilled craft trade or maintenance environment. 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience (Foreman or higher) Must meet physical demands listed below.
