Job Description

HumanHire has partnered with a precision electronics and aerospace manufacturing company in East Meadow, to help find an Equipment Maintenance Technician to join their growing team! We are seeking a hands-on Vacuum Systems Technician to support installation, operations, troubleshooting maintenance, and repair of high and ultra-high vacuum systems used in specialized manufacturing and research environments.
Salary:
up to $95,000/yr (based on experience)
Location:
East Meadow, NY Schedule:
9/80 schedule, Monday-Friday, with alternating Fridays off!
Equipment Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
Assemble, install, operate, maintain, and repair high and ultra-high vacuum systems, components, piping, fittings, and valves. Diagnose vacuum system issues, identify leaks using helium mass spectrometers, and perform troubleshooting to maintain system integrity and performance. Operate and maintain mechanical, turbomolecular, cryogenic, diffusion, and ion pumps. Calibrate and repair vacuum gauges and controllers. Perform precise welding and hands-on assembly of vacuum system components, including stainless steel piping and fittings. Complete scheduled preventative maintenance, maintain detailed service records, and support equipment reliability. Collaborate with Engineering and R&D teams on vacuum testing, experimental setups, and specialized manufacturing projects.
Equipment Maintenance Technician Qualifications:
2+ years of hands-on experience working with high or ultra-high vacuum systems. Precision welding experience required. Experience troubleshooting vacuum systems and performing leak detections using helium spectrometers. Knowledge of vacuum theory, pressure measurement, and vacuum system operation. Familiarity with stainless steel piping, fittings, and vacuum system assembly.
