Role Overview:
The Topper is responsible for installing fans, sheet metal parts, heat exchange coils, and completing the assembly of commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC equipment. This role involves ensuring that parts are properly installed, following engineering drawings, and adhering to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Maintain Work Environment Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. 2. Drawing and Material Reading Read and understand engineering drawings, instructions, and bills of material. 3. Part Identification and Installation Identify parts and pull top-out parts from the Bill of Materials. Install sheet metal parts, fans, door locks, etc., ensuring proper fit and preventing waste of materials. 4. Quality Assurance Check work and ensure all tasks meet quality standards. 5. Team Collaboration Contribute to team efforts by working collaboratively and accomplishing related functions as needed. 6. Additional Tasks Complete any tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies, and company procedures. 7. Attendance and Punctuality Attend work as required and arrive on time. Work overtime as necessary. 8. Accurate Time Tracking Accurately log time in the time and attendance system on the computer to ensure proper labor distribution and payroll. 9. Self-Motivation and Independence Follow manufacturing instructions, work independently without constant supervision, and complete job assignments on time. 10. Tool and Equipment Maintenance Care for tools and equipment and inform maintenance of any malfunctioning equipment. 11. Cleanliness Clean the work area as required.

Working Environment:
Work is performed in an industrial production area for a manufacturer of refrigeration and HVAC equipment. The employee is constantly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is high in some areas, and employees are exposed to extreme temperatures in both winter and summer. There may be stress caused by the pressure of meeting deadlines and product quality standards. Seasonal variations in hours worked may occur based on production demands.
Desired Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
A high school diploma is preferred for upward advancement within the company. The employee must be able to understand instructions from supervisors.
Skills:
Effective communication and listening skills Ability to read and comprehend drawings and written instructions Basic mathematical skills, including reading a tape measure down to 1/16th of an inch. Problem-solving and the ability to ask questions for clarification are essential. Must be capable of monitoring and assessing performance for continuous improvement.
Certificates, Licenses, or Training:
On-site training provided. Forklift license (obtained on site).
