Industrial Maintenance Technician - 1st & 2nd Shift Four full-time, direct-hire openings | Richmond / North Chesterfield, VA Mechanical maintenance and electrical troubleshooting opportunities The Effective Syndicate is recruiting experienced maintenance technicians for a manufacturing employer in the Richmond area. We have two openings on first shift and two on second shift, covering mechanical maintenance and maintenance with electrical troubleshooting. PAY, SHIFTS & BENEFITS

Target base pay: $32-$36 per hour, depending on relevant skills and experience.

Second shift:

an additional $1.25 per hour First shift: 7:00 AM-3:30 PM.

Second shift:

3:30 PM-11:30 PM. These are fixed shift assignments. Health, dental, vision and life insurance, plus a 401(k).

Mechanical Maintenance Technician Troubleshoot and repair production machinery, including mechanical assemblies, gearboxes, motors, hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems. Diagnose failures, replace or repair components, make adjustments, and test equipment before returning it to production. Hands-on mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting skills are required for this specialty. Maintenance Technician - Electrical Troubleshooting Diagnose and repair electrical problems affecting production equipment. Perform equipment wiring, installation and relocation work, and use schematics and diagnostic tools to identify the cause of faults. Hands-on electrical troubleshooting and repair skills are required for this specialty. PLC programming is not required; controls and automation support is available. Applicants need the skills for one specialty; expertise in both is welcome. Manufacturing maintenance experience is preferred, including food manufacturing and other industrial equipment environments. Electricians with relevant commercial or construction experience may also be considered for the electrical openings.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Complete preventive maintenance, scheduled repairs and urgent breakdown repairs on production and facility equipment. Read equipment manuals, drawings, schematics and work orders relevant to your specialty. Find the cause of equipment failures, complete repairs safely and verify that the repair worked. Work with maintenance teammates, operators and engineers to restore production and prevent repeat failures. Follow safety procedures and maintain clean, orderly work areas. Some facility maintenance and equipment moves are part of the work.

WHAT YOU NEED

At least 3 years of relevant hands-on maintenance, equipment repair or electrical trade experience, with demonstrated troubleshooting responsibility. The required mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic skills OR electrical troubleshooting skills described above. Ability to work independently, communicate clearly and follow technical instructions. High school diploma or GED. Ability to perform the physical duties of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds and prolonged standing, bending, pushing and pulling, with or without reasonable accommodation. Availability for your selected shift, required overtime and Saturday coverage. Pre-employment background check and drug screening are required. Craft apprenticeship training, millwright experience, hydraulic/pneumatic certifications, pipefitting and welding are useful additional qualifications for the mechanical openings

Pay:

$32.00 - $36.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
