The Welder is responsible for performing welding, fabrication, repair, and maintenance work on equipment, machinery, piping, and structural components throughout a food-grade manufacturing facility. This position requires a strong focus on safety, quality, sanitation, and maintaining equipment in a condition that supports food-grade manufacturing requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow and comply with applicable good manufacturing, safety, and quality assurance practices. Perform MIG and TIG welding as required for repairs, fabrication, and equipment modifications. Perform basic set up and maintenance on weld machines. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, measurements, and work instructions. Fabricate, modify, install, polish, and repair equipment, piping, platforms, guards, and other components. Perform welding, fabrication, and polishing of sanitary purge welding in food-grade manufacturing. Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner. Inspect completed work to ensure welds, repairs, and fabricated components meet quality and operational requirements. Maintain clean and sanitary work practices appropriate for a food-grade manufacturing environment. Ensure welding, grinding, and fabrication activities do not create contamination or foreign-material risks. Manufacture project per Grassland's specifications. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable food safety and cGMP requirements. Properly use and maintain welding machines, grinders, cutting equipment, hand tools, and other assigned equipment. Assist maintenance personnel and other departments with equipment repairs and projects as needed. Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, operators, and other team members regarding equipment issues and completed work. Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly store tools and materials. Follow required lockout/tagout, hot work, PPE, and other safety procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Compensation for this position is commensurate with education, experience, and relevant qualifications.
