HVAC Journeyman

• Chiller Mechanic to service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC systems throughout the New York / New Jersey / Pennsylvania area.

This role is ideal for experienced union journeymen with a strong background in chillers and commercial HVAC equipment who are looking to work with advanced technology while receiving ongoing factory training and long-term career development. Responsibilities Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment. Service chillers, air handling units, rooftop units, fan coils, cooling towers, boilers, water-source heat pumps, and related mechanical systems. Perform preventative maintenance and inspections to identify potential equipment issues before failures occur. Troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical system issues independently. Perform pipefitting, brazing, component replacements, and equipment repairs. Complete warranty service, equipment testing, and operational verification. Assist with rebuilds, retrofits, and major equipment overhauls. Download and analyze controller programs and chiller operating data to optimize system performance. Mentor apprentice technicians and provide technical guidance in the field. Complete service documentation, time reporting, inventory tracking, and work orders accurately. Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures while maintaining a safe, organized work environment. Participate in scheduled on-call rotations and ongoing technical training. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Journeyman status through the local union required. 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience. Strong experience servicing commercial chillers and applied HVAC equipment. Experience troubleshooting electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. Proficiency with pipefitting and brazing. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to participate in an emergency on-call rotation. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or HVAC technical school certification. EPA Universal Certification. OSHA 10 Certification. First Aid / CPR Certification. Previous experience mentoring junior technicians.
